Today we celebrated Fred's birthday! Fortunately he got home from work about the same time the kids were getting home from school so we were able to jump right into the festivities for the evening!
Earlier in the week the kids had a great time painting some picture frames to make into birthday gifts.
Fred loved his framed photos to take to work with him and the kids were so proud of their accomplishment.
After opening gifts, we drove over to The Family Fun Center to play some putt-putt golf. Evan wanted to be our scorekeeper and promptly wrote everyone's name on the scorecard. He figured the best way to do it was to lay on the ground to write all the names.
Along with a few crazy antics, we all had a great time. We've found that putt-putt golf is one of the few ways to "level the playing field" so everyone has a fairly similar golf score. In fact, Erica was the only one to get TWO holes in one! How 'bout that?
Following golf, Fred got a wild hair and wanted to try the batting cage. I think he realized later in the evening (or should I say his back helped him realize....) that he's no longer the high school ballplayer he once was.
After a great time playing golf and hitting baseballs, we headed to Red Robin for his birthday dinner. As always, Fred was a good sport as the servers sang the Red Robin birthday song...clap, clap, clap, clap (continued loudly throughout the song) Happy Happy Birthday on this your special day... Happy Happy Birthday is what we want to say...Happy Happy Birthday may all your dreams come true....Happy Happy Birthday from Red Robin to you! Hey!
Happy Birthday Fred! We love you!
