Christmas Eve with the B.Wilderd Family

December 24, 2008

We were treated to an extra special Christmas Eve service at church this year. Evan had been asked a few months ago if he'd be willing to be in a production that would be shown at the Christmas Eve services at our church.

Fred and I talked it over with Evan to make sure he understood the commitment and Evan was excited about the opportunity!

Evan met with his "pretend family" (another family from church that do not have a young son) for a photo shoot before Thanksgiving. From the photo shoot, this postcard was created to look sort of "cartoon-ish":

Over the past month they've been in the recording studio doing voice-overs and video taping in preparation for the Christmas Eve services.

The premise of the story was about a family that only seems to make it to church on Easter and Christmas. They get lost finding the church and show up late at the church service, and make a bunch of commotion as they "quietly" find their seats.

The family learns about the "ultimate gift" of Christmas which is the gift of Jesus Christ our Savior, He is our Emmanual -which means "God is with us".

Evan's character, Benjy B. Wilderd, is asked to come up on stage and read the Christmas story out of Luke chapter 2.

Here's a 90 second piece of video of Evan reading the Christmas Story:

We are so proud of Evan, he was so composed on stage and did such a great job!

We are also proud of Erica, she patiently sat with us through two whole services so we could watch Evan during both services!
