Wrapping Up June

June 2010

June has been a busy month for our family. Lots of "wrapping up" to be done between school, brownies, cub scouts, sports, and all.

Erica and Evan performed a musical program at their school. It included all the students in 2nd and 3rd grade. The theme was "Mischevious Bugs" and each class was a different sort of bug in the program. Erica's class was dressed as bumblebees, Evan's class dressed as flies. It was absolutely adorable!

During the weekend of June 4-5, we had our local Relay for Life event. Erica's closest friend, Aileena, battled brain cancer last fall. Thankfully, she is now cancer-free and her family participated in the event. Erica wanted to badly to participate as well and ended up spending the whole night at Relay for Life with Aileena's family. I don't think much sleep took place but it was a very important cause and we're so proud of Erica for her contribution!

Erica's brownie troop did a year-end celebration at a local gymnastics place. The girls all did so well selling Girl Scout cookies earlier in the year, they were able to apply some of their troop proceeds to a fun event at Metropolitan Gymnastics. Erica's favorite piece of equipment was the tramboline.

All the girls had a blast, especially in the giant foam pit.

After the fun, Mrs. Jen & Mrs. Rachel awarded each of the girls with their badges they earned during the year.

It was also time for Evan to do his crossing over in Cub Scouts. He earned his Bear badge and is now officially a Webelo.
