Well enough for Halloween

Fortunately Erica was well enough to participate in Halloween festivities this year. Yeah!

We hadn't carved pumpkins yet so we spent time Friday evening getting the pumpkins carved. Evan was so proud of the fact that he did his pumpkin all by himself!

Erica had selected a larger pumpkin and a howling wolf design this year so she needed a little help from Evan & Dad.

Halloween day started with a soccer game for Erica's team, Evan didn't have a game scheduled so we were fortunate to have only one soccer game to fit into our busy day. The head coach for Erica's team brought temporary tatoos for all the girls to put on before the game. I jokingly called it "putting their game faces on".

Following the soccer game, Erica's team had their year-end soccer banquet at a local pizza place despite the fact that they still have one more make-up game to play due to thunder storms earlier in the season.

The girls on the team are all second and third graders. They were allowed to wear their Halloween costumes to the banquet, if they chose to. Plus they each got a pair of plastic fangs to wear. So fun for them and it was so cute to see all the girls in their adorable costumes.

Following the banquet, it was finally time to start getting ready for the big night of trick-or-treating! As is our custom, Fred usually takes the kids door to door and I get to stay home and greet all the little trick-or-treaters and fill their bags.

Evan wanted to be Harry Potter this year. With the help of a borrowed cape and doing a little digging in the dress-up box and Dad's tie rack, viola, Evan became Harry Potter.

Erica, the horse girl, wanted to be a cowgirl this year. Super easy and so cute on her!

This year Evan got to go trick-or-treating with his buddy, Josh, and his Mom.

Meanwhile, Fred took Erica and her sweet friend Aileena out for a much shorter amount of time. Erica was still recovering from being sick and her friend Aileena was recovering miraculously from brain surgery a few weeks earlier! We have so much to be thankful for this Halloween!
