V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

June 30, 2008

We've returned from a terrific vacation! Evan finished school on June 20th and the next morning we were packed up and ready to head out on a 10-day adventure throughout WA, OR and CA.

We started our vacation by going tent camping with Evan's cub scout pack at Riffe Lake in Mossyrock, WA. Our pack had our own group camp site across the lake from the rest of the campground so the kids were free to run around in our own large area. We enjoyed spending time with some of the other scout families and get to know them better.

The kids went hiking, competed in tug-o-war, had a balloon toss and did other games. They all looked like a bunch of fireflies in their neon yellow shirts!

The kids got to make their own pizza sandwiches and cook them in the fire (they were surprisingly very tasty! Was it because we were camping and everything tastes good when you're camping?)

After dinner, everyone got to partake in making home-made ice cream! We put the ingredients for the ice cream in ziploc bags, put them inside large plastic containers with ice and rock salt. There was a whole lot of shakin' goin' on!

Everyone was tired, filthy and had a terrific time!!!
