Seattle Torchlight Parade

July 28, 2007

Being that Fred nor the kids had ever been downtown Seattle for the Annual Seattle Seafair Torchlight Parade, we decided to give it a whirl and see how it goes.

We were delighted to find "rock star parking" on the street, get our chairs and walk across the crosswalk to find a spot on the street to view the largest parade in Seattle. We figured we'd "wing it" for dinner and find something....We were seated for a few minutes when a gal from a local pizza place was taking orders for pizza to be delivered to our spot. Perfect!

As we were waiting for our pizza to be delivered, the Chief of Police was walking by and was kind enough to let us take advantage of a photo op:

Evan and Chief Gil Kerlikowske

It was a perfect evening! The weather was great, the kids loved the parade, we zipped out of our parking spot and were home by 10:30pm.

We think we might do the parade again next year!
