Catching up on August

August 31, 2010

In reality, it's actually November 13, and I'm madly trying to get caught up on several months worth of blog posts!

Here are a few highlights from our busy August!

We had our annual Schmidt Family Camp out. This year we held it at Lake Sawyer. The weather was amazing, the accommodations exceeded our expectations, and we had a BLAST!

We got to spend time on the water...

Fishing...

Taking in a breathtaking view of Mt. Rainier...

Hangin' out with cousins...

And sharing a good laugh or two...

Both kids attended Summer Camp for our church. It was 4 days/3 nights at nearby Lakeview Christian Retreat in Federal Way. Fred and I got to help out in the kitchen one of the evenings.

I had my 30 year high school reunion, which was a very good time. I loved reconnecting with so many old classmates from as far back as 1st grade.

On top of everything else going on during the month of August, I was part of a group of amazing women who put on a Women's Friendship Dessert at our church. It was an evening of fun, fellowship, and we even had chocolate fountains with fruit and yummy treats for dipping in milk and dark chocolate.

Our special guest speaker for the evening was Sarah Taylor, she is one of the radio personalities from Spirit 105.3. She is an amazing speaker and is equally beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. We had over 200 women attend the event and it was an AMAZING evening!

We wrapped up the month of August with Erica celebrating her 8th birthday. Fred's mom made Erica her very own custom painted trash can! Erica was thrilled because she had specially requested that Granny make her a trash can to have in her room.

We finished up the month by having a poolside birthday party for Erica and 7 of her closest friends. We were pleased to learn that our pool membership entitled us to having a party there without having to pay any additional fee. We ended up having the whole pool to ourselves on the Monday afternoon we held the party, it was perfect!
