What a gorgeous day! It seems to be the first sunny day we've had for weeks (ok, so I may be exaggerating a little bit). We decided to take advantage of our annual pass for Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium before it expires at the end of month.
Now that the kids are older and both in school, we don't seem to make as many trips to Point Defiance as we have in the past. I also realized that Fred hadn't been to Point Defiance for a few years so it was the perfect time to go as a family.
When we first arrived at the zoo around 1:30pm, it became very apparent to us that we weren't the only family with the idea of going to the zoo that day! The parking lot was packed and we weren't having any luck finding a parking space. So we headed down to a little beach that the kids and I have been to before, it's called Owen Beach.
Evan had fun trying to see how far he could get down the beach by balancing on logs and not touching the sand. Erica enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and jumping on some of the bouncy logs.
Time to get back in the car and make another attempt to find a parking spot to get into the zoo.
This time we had no difficulty finding a parking space and headed into the zoo.
Our gorgeous mountain!
